Scot Munroe, Andy from RomaZone, and Valerio of Twitter account RomaRants are put to the test with three topical football questions in this week’s “3X3” column…

The Roma Question: What is the biggest takeaway from Roma’s away win against Milan?

@scot_munroe: “The squad unity after the final whistle. There was a nice picture going around on social media of the Roma players in a huddle after the game and you can see that the victory meant so much to the players. Plus it was a fantastic win going into the international break and it shows confidence is flowing through the team after the good start to the season.”

@RomaZone: “Roma managed to beat a team who were desperately seeking a turnaround. They did this by converting their chances and with great individual efforts like Dzeko’s screamer and Alisson’s saves while defending the clean sheet. But even more impressive was the fact that an important player like Strootman left the field injured and could be replaced from the bench by Pellegrini, who then had a great performance.”

@RomaRants: “Roma’s win against Milan answers a lot of questions about their ability to handle important games. The biggest thing to take from it is that the team is united, as their post-match group hug celebration suggests everyone is on the same page, working towards the same objective.”

The Serie A Question: Who are the three best Serie A players under 25?

@scot_munroe: “This is a tough one, as there are so many good young players playing in Serie A. Federico Chiesa at Fiorentina, like father like son - he’s following in his father footsteps and has proven he is a special talent. The goals he has scored this season have been of a different class. Lucas Torriera at Sampdoria - he reminds me a lot of David Pizarro. I would have loved him at Roma this season to be playing in the playmaking role in the midfield. He never gives the ball away. Paulo Dybala is my final choice. His rise from Serie B with Palermo to Juventus in a space of a few years is something special. Dybala has been the go-to man for Juventus this season and has scored a couple of hat-tricks in the process. He is a game changer.”

@RomaZone: “The first three names coming into my mind within seconds are Dybala, Belotti and Icardi. But besides these stars, there are a bunch of top performers who should also be mentioned, like Milinkovic-Savic, Kessie, Donnarumma, El Shaarawy or Pellegrini. This shows how the Serie A has developed, and it’s such a positive!”

@RomaRants: “At 23 years old, Paulo Dybala is a fundamental player for the six-time champions, making him an easy pick. The second pick goes to Andrea Belotti, as he continues to show he is the most promising Italian striker. Lastly, but definitely not least, Roma’s very own Lorenzo Pellegrini deserves a shout after a phenomenal start to this season.”

The General Football Question: Were Bayern Munich right to fire Carlo Ancelotti?

@scot_munroe: “Yes, I follow a couple of German Bundesliga experts on social media and they say it has been coming. Bayern haven't started the season well with defeats at Hoffenheim and in the Champions League away at PSG. Add to that the dropped points at home to Wolfsburg with a goalkeeping mistake from the second-choice goalkeeper Sven Ulreich. Bayern went from Pep, who is a very intense character and demands more from his players, to Carlo, who is very laid back, and that showed in Bayern's recent performances.”

@RomaZone: “It’s always a shame when a club needs to let an icon like Ancelotti go. But to be honest, it is a business at this level of professional football. From the outside you may think he wasn’t able to reach his star players anymore. Maybe a club like Bayern didn’t have another option than to sack him – even this early into the season. The good thing is that maybe he’s coming back to Serie A – or he’s making another Terence Hill movie!”

@RomaRants: “Letting go of Carlo Ancelotti, given his curriculum and the praise he gets from his former players, sounds like a terrible idea. If certain controversial calls hadn’t been made in last year's Champions League matches with Real Madrid, perhaps the German titans wouldn’t be making such an abrupt decision at this time.”
