Stefano from AS Roma Ireland, Pete from @ASRomaMatchworn, and Rush from Twitter Account @monchimoney are put to the test with three topical football questions…
Stefano / @ASRomaDublin: “Di Francesco has done a great job for the player psychologically. He’s the type of player that needs a lot of motivation and when he feels confident, he can deliver extraordinary results.”
Pete / @ASRomaMatchworn: “SES showed great signs when given a chance last season but the coach didn’t give him a run of games to show his full potential. The same could be said for Perotti. Glad they are both getting the chance in what is proving to be an exciting side.”
Rush / @monchimoney: “The key to his form has been Di Francesco giving him consistent playing time and confidence. Last year I kept saying he’s a player capable of making an impression on any game, and felt he was misused as an occasional rotation player.”
@ASRomaDublin: “No, because fans need to be behind their team at all times. If some league matches were to be played elsewhere it would also be hard on the fans traveling to the venue. Italian football must be revived in Italy.”
@ASRomaMatchworn: “No. Serie A is once again one of the most competitive leagues in Europe and should focus on getting crowds back into the stadiums. Fans gained by this type of initiative would be short-lived and certainly not the type Roma should want to attract. Pre-season tours are sufficient.”
@monchimoney: “No. To make the promotion worthwhile the games would have to be played in North America or Asia. Given how much the players were affected by the trip to Azerbaijan for the Champions League, the team’s performance would suffer too much from playing outside of Italy.”
@ASRomaDublin: “At this stage, only Messi or Ronaldo should be sold for over 100 million. Others like Harry Kane, Dries Mertens, Mauro Icardi, and Andrea Belotti might be sold to richer clubs for a fee over that amount though.”
@ASRomaMatchworn: “In Italy, I would have to say Dybala. He is young, talented, and only improving.”
@monchimoney: “I’m not really sure, but I think it will either be a striker to Real Madrid or a central midfielder to Paris St. Germain. After losing Morata and being beaten by PSG to sign Mbappe’s signature, I think they’ll be looking to spend big this summer on a top class striker. I think PSG’s biggest weakness is their midfield. There is a World Cup this year as well, so who knows!”
