3x3: Roma-Shakhtar, best Serie A kits and the UCL favourites

Roma Club Norway president Erlend is joined by Ukrainian journalist from footboom.com, Nikita, and head of AS Roma Vkontakte group Andrey, as they are put on the spot with three topical football questions…

The Roma Question: Were you surprised to see Roma turn it around against Shakhtar Donetsk – and what sort of statement does it send for the club to reach the quarter-finals?

Nikita / @chernyack: “Yes, I'm surprised because I considered Shakhtar to be a favourite, especially after the first match. I was sure that Shakhtar would score at the Olimpico, but the Ukranians played their worst match of the Champions League in Rome.

"Roma is a rare guest at this stage of the Champions League, and this is really a great achievement - both for the team and for the club. Now Di Francesco will have an advantage over critics, and he will be able to focus on getting into the top four of Serie A.”

Andrey / @solya13: “Not surprised at all. After the victory over Napoli, I was sure that Roma's crisis was over. I haven't seen this Roma in a long time. It's a very important moment for our club.”

Erlend / @RCNorvegia: “I went to the game with hope, but no expectations, due to the unstable performance of the team since November. After the first half, I must admit that I didn't believe we would make it. The team didn't seem to be able to be of any significant danger to Shaktar, and they seemed to dominate the game. Di Francesco must have done a heck of a pep talk at the break, because the team looked completely different in the second half and especially after Dzeko’s winner.

"Roma has definitely earned its place in the top of European football, but I think we still have some road ahead of us before we can compete for European titles. The message is that Roma is here, and have to be considered as a major team the Champions League.”

The Serie A Question: Aside from Roma, which club has the nicest/best-looking kits?

@chernyack: “I really can only think about Roma, but let’s say Genoa.”

@solya13: “Napoli!”

@RCNorvegia: “I have always liked the Palermo kits, even though they’re not in Serie A this year, but traditionally are.”

The General Football Question: Which side were you most surprised to see exit the Champions League at the last-16 stage, and which side do you think should be considered the favourites to win it right now?

@chernyack: “I was unpleasantly surprised by Tottenham. I was hoping that the Spurs would beat Juventus. For Sevilla, on the contrary, I was not surprised. United had no set game, and all the players played for themselves and not for the team. Manchester City will win the tournament – I have no doubts.”

@solya13: “The biggest surprise was Manchester United's exit. The main favourite for me has to be Roma, and I believe we can get to the finals. Two more clubs – Manchester City and Barcelona - have really good chances too.”

@RCNorvegia: “I was most surprised to see Tottenham exit, even if they drew 2-2 against Juventus. In the first game they totally dominated and seemed to get a great start on the second before Juve basically won the game within three good minutes.”
