But a dogged effort from the English Championship side was eventually surmounted with 15 minutes remaining, as Felix finished clinically after being played in by Ebrima Darboe.

Minutes later, Zaniolo lashed home from a similar position inside the box to confirm the result.

Roma are back in action at the same venue on Saturday - Portimonense will be the opponents then.
