Hall of Fame: Totti to salute crowd ahead of Real Madrid tie

Roma’s Champions League meeting with Real Madrid at the end of the month was already set to be a spectacle – but now it will be even more memorable for fans at the Stadio Olimpico.

Prior to the game - which takes place on Tuesday November 27, and could yet have an important role to play in how Group G finishes - Giallorossi legend Francesco Totti will be presented to the crowd; speaking directly to the club supporters for the first time since he retired from the game on 28 May 2017.

The day after his retirement Totti, now a club director, was officially inducted into the AS Roma Hall of Fame as the sole member of the Class of 2017.

Before the Real Madrid the 42-year-old will take to the pitch before players from both sides warm-up, in order to receive the special club shirt that is given to all Hall of Fame members.

The club’s all-time leading appearance-maker and goalscorer, Totti was the first player ever to be voted directly into the Hall of Fame by the club following his retirement - becoming the 28th overall member since the Hall of Fame was introduced in 2012.

Fans looking to attend the game, which gets underway at 20:55 local time, are advised to arrive with plenty of time to spare in order to witness the pre-match ceremony.

Totti is scheduled to take to the pitch at around 20:00.
