Club celebrates FIFA World Football Week 2025 with special lesson at AS Roma Sports High School

Special lesson on the social role of football for student-athletes of the AS Roma Sports High School in Trigoria with Niccolo Pisilli and Giada Greggi.

To celebrate World Football Week - established last year by FIFA at the initiative of the UN to promote unity, solidarity and respect between people of all ages and cultures through football - the club chose to organise a special lesson on the social role played by football around the world for student-athletes attending the Sports High School within the Fulvio Bernardini Training Ground in Trigoria.

'Football as a sport that fosters personal growth, support and integration' was the theme of the lessons coordinated by the AS Roma Head of Educational Activities, Manrico Ferrari, and given by the teachers before 120 pupils of the AS Roma youth academy in Classroom 1 of the institute.

After the opening greeting by AS Roma’s Chief Football Operating Officer, Maurizio Lombardo and the Deputy Headteacher of the Giovanni Paolo II Institute, Ottavio Di Paolo, the teachers involved covered the various topics selected, which included the power of teamwork, football as a form of support and solidarity, and how this sport can counter marginalisation.

What was particularly appreciated was the speech by Florent Ghisolfi, followed by contributions from Niccolo Pisilli and Giada Greggi, two players of the club who have just turned professional and who took part in a Q&A session on the topics discussed during the lesson.

It was a special morning for the pupils of the AS Roma high school – attended by Pisilli up until not long ago – the only educational facility within a training ground of a Serie A club and truly the crown jewel of Roma’s youth academy.
