The club has already been involved in the lead-up to golf’s greatest team event – which tees off Friday in the Eternal City – by offering official Ryder Cup merchandise for sale at the club’s flagship Piazza Colonna and Via del Corso stores during the weeks leading up to the tournament.
"Rome in One" now offers another fantastic opportunity: a small, phygital golf course dressed up in the unmistakeable yellow and red of AS Roma, with LED walls offering participants an immersive experience through the city’s most iconic locations.
The traditional golf flagstick has been replaced with a corner flag to recreate the atmosphere of a football pitch while playing a round of golf. The course offers various difficulty levels with some unusual obstacles ranging from sampietrini – typical Roman paving stones – to free-kick dummy walls and mini-aqueducts.
Besides being united by this year’s host city, the Ryder Cup and AS Roma also share the same birth date, 1927, each boasting almost a century of history and recognition on the international stage.
The aim of the initiative, organized in collaboration with The Friedkin Group, is to enhance the Fan Village experience at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome, engaging Giallorossi fans and non-Giallorossi fans alike at this highly prestigious, world-famous sports event.
