See what the club's new No. 20 had to say about this new opportunity in his career...

Welcome Mady, how does it feel to be a Roma player?

"First of all, I want to thank everyone who’s helped me get where I am today. I’m delighted to have joined Roma."

Your transfer went through at the end of this window. Tell us about the move...

"There were lots of talks and I had other offers but Roma were always the first choice. I really wanted to come here."

You’ve already acquired European experience playing in France and Greece. How do you imagine playing in Serie A?

"I know that every league is different. I’ve played against AC Milan before and I know it’s not an easy league. You have to believe in yourself and work hard. And if you do that the results will come."

How do you feel about working with José Mourinho?

"Very proud. I’ll work with the best coach in the world. Or one of the best. I feel great pride."

It’s going to be a long season for Roma with lots of games. What do you think you have to offer the team?

"We’re in lots of competitions, but we have lots of players too. I’m here to help the team win trophies. Everything we’re involved in: Serie A, the cup and the Europa League. We’ll do the best we can with the players we’ve got. We have to give our all to go all the way."

There is a photo from a few years ago of you wearing a Roma shirt. Can you tell us about that?

"I had a cousin who used to play in Morocco, and he brought me the shirt. I think it was in 2013, I’ve kept it since as a souvenir."

Have you followed Roma’s fortunes since turning professional?

"I have, yes. Lots of great players have passed through this club, including Amadou Diawara who I have played with for the national team. I remember players like De Rossi and Totti. There have been lots."

You got to see your new stadium the other night, albeit from the stands.

"It was amazing, I saw all the fans and how passionate they are. I can’t wait to see them again."

Do you have a message for the fans?

"My message for everyone is I’ll give everything I’ve got to make them happy."
