Roma Women and Italy forward Annamaria Serturini visited the Italian Paralympic Committee on Monday morning, to spend time with young children involved in the organisation's initiatives.
The event, which took place as part of the Mental Health Festival currently taking place in Rome until October 2, was organised in conjunction with the the club, ASL Roma 2, the Paralympic Committee and the Cultural Commission for IX Municipio.
Serturini took part in a special training session and event that included a number of disabled students, along with members of two local high schools.
“Facing challenges in sport helps us grow as people and also find ways of overcoming the obstacles and resistance that people face in life,” said Serturini.
“It’s vital to stay united as a team in both; my advice to the girls and boys present here today is to never lose your confidence and belief in each other, and to help each other to continue to believe in themselves.”
Alongside Serturini and representatives of the club, the event was also attended by Rome's Assessor for Public Works, Mobility and Schools, Paola Angelucci, the city's Assessor for Health and Social Politics, Luisa Laurelli.
Representatives from both UOSD and CIP were also present.
