The first week of the AS Roma Sustainability Social Camps took place from 30 June to 4 July at the Dabliu Eur Sport Club, where children living in conditions of financial and social vulnerability, as reported by the Forum Terzo Settore Lazio APS, by Caritas Roma, by the Presidency of Municipio IX and by the parishes that are part of the club's community network were able to enjoy a quality recreational and educational experience during their summer holidays. This is the sixth edition of the initiative, which has been helped by a generous contribution from HDI Assicurazioni, AS Roma’s Insurance Partner, for the necessary insurance coverage for the staff and participants.
A new feature for the 2025 edition is that each day spent by the children at the camp has been dedicated to a specific UEFA policy on sustainability, featuring educational activities in the morning and sports activities and workshops in the afternoon.
"Football for all abilities" was the theme of the opening day. Participants were able to meet the coaches of Roma Blind Football and AS Roma for Special, after which they provided a demonstration of their games.
The following day, in the name of equality and inclusion, a sign language lesson was held by qualified interpreters followed by practical activities from the knowledge acquired.
Wednesday was dedicated to the fight against racism and bullying, with valuable and knowledgeable contributions by the State Police and Postal Police officers. They added further value to the activities that the club has been carrying out for years to combat racism and bullying through the "A Scuola di Tifo" ["Fan School"] project, in adherence to the "No Bulli" ["No To Bullying"] campaign promoted by the Regional Council of Lazio. In the afternoon, a friendly match took place featuring the participation of Liberi Nantes, a team made up of refugee footballers and asylum seekers.
The climate crisis was Thursday’s theme, when AMA representatives presented the "Waste Travel 360°" programme to children to involve them in an immersive journey inside recycling factories with the aim of encouraging the culture of the circular economy.
The closing day was dedicated to the protection of minors and young people and featured contributions from Italian Red Cross: Rome Municipio 9 Committee volunteers who led first aid lessons and other practical demonstration activities.
In the second week that will begin on Monday 7 July there will be other activities and initiatives in the name of fun, inclusion and sharing, following the spirit that has always driven the club's activities within its community.
