Carina Wenninger is a Roma Women player - becoming the first Austrian to represent the Giallorosse.
The 31-year-old, veteran of over 100 appearances for her country, is also the all-time leading appearance maker for German giants Bayern Munich.
Wenninger began her career at SV Thal, playing mixed football up until the age of 14 - at which point she moved to Gratkorn in order to continue to play alongside the boys for another season.
In 2006 she was signed by LUV Graz, as she began playing women's football for the first time.
Just a year later, at the age of 16, Wenninger joined Bayern Munich - the club she has stayed with for every season up until this summer. Including the men's team there is just one player that has been at the club longer than Carina - Thomas Muller.
That longevity explains why even the club museum at the Allianz Arena has a special section dedicated to the central defender.

From the 2015-16 season onwards Wenninger and Bayern have been playing regularly in the Champions League; reaching the semi-finals of the competition in both 2019 and 2021.
Unsurprisingly Wenninger is a cornerstone of the Austrian national team, making her 100th appearance for her country back in December 2020 against Serbia.
She will lead her side out in this summer's UEFA Women's European Championship.

A central defender with a vast amount of experience, Wenninger is physically imposing and covers the ground well.
A natural right-footer, she has improved her play with the ball at her feet to become a key part of build-up play for her sides in recent seasons.
With more than 300 appearances (and nine goals) for Bayern Munich she is the side's all-time record appearance holder.
For Austria, meanwhile, with 115 caps (and six goals) she is currently second on the nation's all-time list.
