Alessandro Spugna's side could secure a top-two finish and a place in next season's European competition as soon as Sunday, should AC Milan lose against Pomigliano.
But a victory in either of their remaining league fixtures will also be enough to ensure European football for the first time since the team's formation in 2018.
“It was a hard game on a difficult ground but we are very happy to take the win," Roman Haug said afterwards.
"And, as you say, it’s very important for [qualifying for] the Champions League as well.”
She added: “It’s really fun to be able to contribute to the team’s wins. Especially when it is a game like it was today. So yes, I am very happy.”
All three Roma goals on Saturday came from set-piece situations, with Lucia Di Giuglielmo, Paloma Lazaro and finally Haug converting headers from corners to deliver the three points for Spugna's side.
Fiorentina equalised twice prior to Haug's decisive moment; Daniela Sabatino coolly finishing from the penalty spot in the first half as Valery Vigilucci bundled home in the second half to give her side hope.
The Giallorosse were always marginally the more proactive side, however, and warranted their late winner.
