Rachele Baldi thanks Roma as she joins Napoli

Goalkeeper Rachele Baldi has thanked the club, staff and teammates after completing her move from Roma Women to Napoli this month.

The Italy international goalkeeper was part of the squad that won the Coppa Italia in 2021 - and took to Instagram to reflect on her time in the Italian capital.

Here's what Baldi wrote:

Dear Roma,

We have reached the moment to say goodbye...

I came here full of dreams and fired up with expectations. It was as if I was joining a group I had already been a part of, that I already felt at home with. I believed in what I was trying to achieve and gave it everything I had, although unfortunately things did not go quite as I wanted. But this is part of the game, of life.

I just want to say thank you. Thank you for helping me live my dreams, for having pushed me on, for allowing me to compete and take part in the biggest occasions.

Thank you for all the people you enabled me to me, the staff I had the chance to work with and the infrastructure and the possibilities that you allowed me to have. Thank you because you helped me to grow as a person and as a player. Thank you for helping refine so many sides of my character, and ensuring my heart is even stronger now. Thank you to the fans, always ready to follow us wherever we went.

Thank you for the ups and downs, the first trophy we claimed and all the other unforgettable moments too.

This has been a crucial step on my journey and in my bid to become the player I want to be. You helped me analyse myself, free myself and take the brakes off.

I am grateful to have had this experience, to have been on this journey and to have been a part of this family.

It has been an honour.
