Lorenzo Pellegrini continued his sparkling start to the season with two more goals as Roma beat Salernitana 4-0 on Sunday night.
Pellegrini got the crucial opening goal of the game just minutes into the second half, a strike that turned what had threatened to be a frustrating evening in Salerno into a second half cakewalk.
“I’m really pleased, we won a game that wasn’t straightforward,” Pellegrini said afterwards.
“It wasn’t easy to find the goal but we managed to do it at the start of the second half and after that it was much easier.”
He added: “The coach told us [at half-time] to keep pushing with the same intensity and to move the ball quickly to find the right spaces at the right time. Fortunately we were able to do that.”
With six points from six so far, the Giallorossi go into the international break full of confidence.
“This year there is something different around the place, what we are really trying to do is take things game-by-game,” Pellegrini added.
“We won’t look beyond the game that is front of us. We want to keep improving and developing together as a group.”
