Mourinho was presented to the media in a special event at the scenic Terrazza Caffarelli in the Italian capital's historic centre, as journalists from all around the world arrived to hear from the Portuguese coach.
Pinto began the press conference with a short speech.
“Here's [José] Mourinho – I think that says it all,” he said, with a smile.
“This is a very happy day for us. It’s the first step in a change of mentality. We’re looking forward to plenty of good things over the course of the next three years. The coach’s career speaks for itself.
"I want to thank Dan and Ryan [Friedkin] for giving us the opportunity to bring Mourinho to Roma and I’d like to thank Mourinho for showing such belief in our project.
"There’s been a lot of positive energy around Trigoria this week.”
Pinto was largely an observer for the rest of the press conference, although he did intervene when the new manager was asked about the ongoing transfer market.
“We’ve analysed the team and we know what we need," Pinto said.
"It's a different kind of transfer window. We’re working every day to find solutions - you may not see the results just yet, but we are working hard every day.
"Come the end of the transfer window, we will have a team that is worthy of Mourinho."
