The Armenian scored his first hat-trick in Roma colours to deliver another important three points for the side - and join some exclusive company in club history...
The Genoa triple: 90-45-10
Mkhitaryan's performance was the 90th such hat-trick in Roma history - nicely matching up with the number of minutes in a match.
Interestingly, he became the 45th different player to score a triple for the Giallorossi - and from the 10th different country (excluding Italy) too.
The complete list of nations now reads: Argentina, Armenia, Bosnia, Brazil, Egypt, Germany, Montenegro, Russia, Sweden, Hungary.
Numbers game
Prior to Mkhitaryan, the last Roma player to score a hat-trick was Edin Dzeko - who managed the feat against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League (at the Olimpico) back in 2018.
The last hat-trick for the club in Serie A was a further two years before that, when Mohamed Salah found the net on three occasions in the 3-0 home win over Bologna in November 2016.
For the last away triple, meanwhile, you have to go all the way back to 2014 and a visit to Sardinia - as Mattia Destro scored all three in the 3-1 win over Cagliari. Interestingly enough, Destro was a second half substitute for Genoa during Sunday's game.
The first ever Roma hat-trick, meanwhle? That came courtesy of Cesare Augusto Fasanelli in April 1928 - as he rifled in three in a 4-1 CONI Cup win over Napoli.
The first hat-trick from a non-Italian followed soon after, as Arturo Chini Luduena managed it in a 4-0 win over Prato in October of that same year. He is down as the first of 10 Argentines to have managed the feat for Roma - no country (Italy apart) can count as many.
Leading the way
No player has scored more hat-tricks for Roma than Pedro Manfredini - the man nicknamed 'Man-tre-dini' managed a stunning nine during his time in Giallorossi. Amadeo Amadei follows with seven, while Enrique Guaita managed five in just 63 appearances.
Rodolfo Volk and Abel Balbo also managed five triples - albeit in many more games.
