Rome mayor and club CEO distribute masks for Roma Cares

Rome mayor Virginia Raggi and club CEO Guido Fienga distributed masks on Monday, as part of Roma Cares' latest initiative in the Italian capital.

Over the last few days the club's charity arm has been delivering 10,000 masks to schools around Rome, along with advice and information to help students keep themselves and others safe during the current pandemic.

Mayor Raggi and Fienga spent time outside Mahatma Gandha Primary School in the San Basilio area of the city, passing out masks and talking with pupils about precautionary measures they can take.

"First of all, we want to thank AS Roma and Roma Cares for committing to such an important initiative," Mayor Raggi said.

"Through initiatives like this, which are also fun and appeal to children, we are able to better spread the message about how important it is to respect the rules in order to avoid spreading the virus."

CEO Guido Fienga added: "One of the things we care about most of all is reaching out to people, and our fans especially, in any way possible, helping them to get through this particularly challenging time by doing what we can for them.

"We're making the most of our organisational capacity, which of course we use ourselves to protect our team, by making the same things available to our fans to help them get through this difficult time."
