The 18-year-old left-back, a club academy graduate, scored a brilliant long-range effort early in the second half; a goal that propelled the Giallorossi towards victory.
“It’s hard to imagine scoring a better first goal,” Calafiori said. “An incredible feeling.
“With the fans here it would have been even better, but I’m happy!”
The night was the culmination of a rollercoaster few years for the youngster - who suffered a serious knee injury in a UEFA Youth League game in 2018 that led some to fear for his future in the game.
Calafiori added: “It has been the toughest, but now also the best, period of my life. I had to go through a lot but fortunately I was able to do it.
"This has capped things off, I've achieved a dream.
"I’ve finished off that chapter and started another now – hopefully I keep on pushing forward.”
