10 Things To Know: We're back in action!

Kick-off is at the later time of 21:45 CEST, while no fans will be inside the 80,000-seater stadium for the contest.

Sampdoria have already played one game since the campaign resumed - losing 2-1 against Inter Milan. They currently sit 16th in the standings, one point above Genoa and Lecce.

Here are 10 things to know ahead of Wednesday's game...

    Meeting No. 124

Of all the previous matches between these two, Roma have won 49 and drawn 35 - losing on 39 occasions.

    The home record

In Serie A these two sides have met in Rome 61 times, with 39 of them finishing with a Giallorossi victory. Twelve have ended in draws, with Sampdoria winning just 10 times.

    When Losi become Roma's 'heart'

When Roma faced Sampdoria back in January 1961, Giacomo Losi scored his first goal for the club - and wrote his way into the fans' hearts in the process. Despite suffering a serious injury to his lower back Losi remained out on the pitch, almost unable to move in the closing stages. Yet there he was to somehow score the final goal in a 3-2 win, heading home from a corner sent in by Francisco Lojacono. The following day the newspapers dubbed him 'The Heartbeat of Roma'.

    A first for Perotti

The No. 8, a January signing back in 2016, scored his first goal for the club in this fixture this season - which was just his second appearance for the club too.

Totti the king of the goalscorers

Francesco Totti scored 15 goals against Sampdoria in his career, with that volley at the Marassi perhaps standing out to most supporters. Trailing in his wake in that particular goalscoring chart is Pedro Manfredini (8), with Abel Balbo and Dino Da Costa (7) completing the podium.

    Sampdoria hat-tricks

Just five Roma players have scored hat-tricks against Sampdoria during their career: Amedeo Amadei, Abel Balbo, Dino Da Costa and Pedro Manfredini.

    Of the current squad...

Edin Dzeko has three career goals against Sampdoria to his credit since joining the Giallorossi, putting ahead of Juan Jesus, Diego Perotti and Bruno Peres as the only other current players to have scored in this fixture.

Perotti sit to hit the century

If he makes an appearance at some point on Wednesday, Diego Perotti will reach 100 Serie A games for the Giallorossi.

Doors closed for the first time in a decade

You have to go back to the 2005-06 season for the last time Roma played a game behind closed doors, when they beat Cagliari 4-3 in Rieti. For a similar experience at the Olimpico, you have to go back to the Champions League group stage in 2004 - when Roma played both Real Madrid (3-0 loss) and Bayer Leverkusen (1-1) without fans in the ground.

    Totti's last in the league

The legendary No. 10 scored his last Serie A home goal in this very game, back at the start of the 2016-17 season. The game, perhaps best remembered for the violent thunderstorm that stopped play for more than an hour, ended with Totti's decisive penalty kick - which secured a 3-2 win for the delighted Giallorossi.
