The Portuguese acknowledged that the Giallorossi had seen their confidence knocked following the weekend defeat to Torino – but remains certain fans will see a different side this weekend.
“The squad are a bit sad after the game against Torino, but now we are focused on the match against Juventus and we have to be optimistic,” Fonseca said.
“We need to improve in terms of the errors we made. Sunday is just another game like all the rest, but our target must always be to try to win.
"On Sunday we are going up against one of the best sides in Italy, a great side, but we will prepare for the game with the clear intention of trying to win it.”
Fonseca, who was speaking at the men’s fashion festival Pitti Uomo in Florence in conjunction with the club’s Fashion Partner Tombolini, is ready for a tough month ahead – after Juventus, the Giallorossi have successive away trips against Parma (in the Coppa Italia) and Genoa (Serie A), before closing out January with the second Derby della Capitale of the season against Lazio.
“It’s true that it’ll be a tough run,” Fonseca added.
“But the squad are working hard and I think we will be ready for it.”
