The Giallorossi moved into the top two at the halfway stage of Group G thanks to two goals from Edin Dzeko and a clincher from Cengiz Under, on another dominant night at the Stadio Olimpico.
Dzeko moved to five goals already in the competition this season - and 13 in his last 14 starts in the competition for Roma - to turn the game in the home side's favour, before providing the assist as Cengiz effectively wrapped things up five minutes after half-time.

With Real Madrid winning at home to Viktoria Plzen elsewhere on the night, the result means both sides have six points at this stage - with CSKA Moscow on three and Plzen still to get off the mark.
A win in the Russian capital in two weeks' time would put Roma well on course for a place in the knockout stages of the competition.
Daniele De Rossi returned to the starting line-up for the clash, as Davide Santon came in at left-back.
Dzeko once again led the attack, with Stephan El Shaarawy and Cengiz Under in support.
3' - A good save from Olsen, as he denies Chalov as the forward hits a powerful effort from just inside the box.
6' - A mistake from CSKA goalkeeper Pomazun as he clears the ball straight to the feet of Pellegrini... but the midfielder's shot from long range is narrowly over.
11' - Long-range chances at either end, as first Pellegrini tests Pomazun with a low drive, and then Vlasic's dipping effort is tipped around the post by Olsen.
23' - From a corner, Pomazun is forced to tip De Rossi's header over the crossbar.
25' - A better spell from the Giallorossi. Cengiz cuts inside onto his favoured left foot - but his curling shot from a central position is off target.
30' - GOAL! ROMA LEAD! A great team move cuts CSKA open: Lorenzo Pellegrini plays the one two with El Shaarawy to get into the box... and the squares brilliantly with the outside of his boot for Dzeko to tap home! 1-0!
39' - Another speculative long-range effort from Vlasic, another good save from Olsen. The resulting corner comes to nothing...
43' - GOAL! CLINICAL! Two-nil up! A bursting run from Cengiz Under opens up the space, and El Shaarawy then feeds Dzeko inside the box for an emphatic first-time finish! 2-0!
48' - A blistering first-time half-volley from Florenzi flashes narrowly wide of the far post. That would have been some goal.
50' - GOAL! CENGIZ! Emphatic finish from the winger! The long ball towards Dzeko is nodded down inside the box, and Cengiz runs onto the loose ball brilliantly to sweep it home! 3-0!
73' - Chance for Dzeko to claim his hat-trick... but he heads narrowly wide from close range.
87' - El Shaarawy tries to pick out the top corner from distance, but Pomazun makes the sprawling save!
89' - Another fantastic save from Pomazun, this time to parry away Manolas's attempt from an inswinging free-kick! Cristante fires narrowly over when the ball is only half-cleared...

On Saturday, after a good first half, the team crumbled at the first sign of trouble and we completely lost our way. We showed a lot of good things tonight, including the ability to dig in. They’re good between the lines but we found our rhythm, producing some good play and creating chances.”
- Eusebio Di Francesco
“It’s difficult to say why [we perform so well in the Champions League], when three days ago we need to do more to win against SPAL. Today we gave everything – clearly we need to find more consistency, both personally and as a team.”
- Edin Dzeko
The Giallorossi now have a big test in the league ahead of them - as they travel to face Napoli on Sunday night.
The following weekend they are then away to Fiorentina, before travelling to Moscow for the return tie in this group stage.
