AS Roma and Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia have joined forces for the 2018-19 cinema and football seasons.

A host of initiatives and events are planned, to tie in with the launches of the many Sony Pictures films being distributed by Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia this season.

Daniele De Rossi, Kostas Manolas, Justin Kluivert and Antonio Mirante are infected by Marvel Venom in the new advert, the first example of the partnership.

Francesco Totti also stars in a cameo role.

To celebrate the release of Venom, directed by Ruben Fleischer and out in theatres on 4 October, Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia and AS Roma have made a special advert that merges both parties with memorable results.

In the film, journalist Eddie Brock, played by Oscar-nominated actor Tom Hardy, becomes infected by a symbiotic alien organism which takes control of him and turns him into Venom. The advert focuses on one of the key themes of the movie: the struggle between the uncontrollable power of the alien symbiote and the protagonist’s desire to rein it in.

We all have own inner Venom which invades the spirit before every great challenge. In a setting which spans the real and the imaginary world, the advert spotlights the concentration and adrenaline needed to step up to the big occasion - when our greatest foe is the one we carry within us.

Totti’s cameo closes out the advert, announcing that the moment of truth has finally arrived.

The advert is the first example of the collaboration between AS Roma and Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia, which sees them linking up for an exclusive project bringing together top-flight football and international cinema.
