Gyomber: Totti is my new hero

Welcome to Roma. How does it feel to join such a big club?
"Thanks a lot. I'm delighted to be here. Roma is without doubt one of the world's biggest clubs and I'm very happy to be here."

How excited are you about the prospect of playing in the Champions League for the first time?
"Playing in the Champions League has always been a dream of mine and it's one I hope to realize."

How will it feel to make your first appearance at the Olimpico?
"I'm not thinking about it yet. First of all I have to train well and then if I get the chance to play, it will be a special moment."

You're a center-back by trade but have you played in different positions throughout your career?
"I've played in front of the back four for the national team, as well as at full-back on both flanks. Those are the positions I can play."

Who was your footballing hero growing up?
"Zidane was my hero back in the day but now I'll definitely look up to Totti."

You recently helped Slovakia beat Spain. How did that feel?
"Winning such a big match was an amazing feeling for Slovakia because we're not like Spain, Italy or other sides like that. We put in a great performance and we were very pleased."

Can playing for Roma help you become a permanent fixture in the national team?
"I think so. If you play for a team like Roma, you can also start for the national team but we'll see."

What are your targets for this season?
"Personally, I want to train well and do everything the coach asks of me. As for the team, we definitely need to compete for the Scudetto and we'll see what happens."

Finally, do you have a message for the Giallorossi fans?
"I want to say ‘Hi’ to all the supporters and 'Forza Roma'!"
