For the 1st time this season, Roma lined up with the same 11 players as in a previous game. The side that began against Bayer Leverkusen was the same one that started the 2-1 victory at Fiorentina.

Believe it or not, Roma’s attack score even more on average in the Champions League than they do in Serie A. The Giallorossi have struck 10 times in their opening four group matches, at an average of 2.5 goals-per-game.

The Giallorossi’s five points from four matches leaves them second in Group E and they now have the chance to equal their second-best finish in the group stages of Europe’s premier club competition. In 2007-08, Roma went through with 11 points, one fewer than their tally of 12 in 2008-09. Last season, Roma finished up with five points, taking four from their first three matches and one from their second trio of games.

Miralem Pjanic’s penalty winner extended Roma’s perfect record this season of winning every match in which they’ve led going into the interval – six in total.

7

After scoring the first penalty awarded to Roma in all competitions this term, Pjanic took his total to seven goals from 13 appearances this season, improving on his personal best for the Giallorossi of six in the 2013-14 campaign.

Eight different players have found the net in the Champions League for Roma this season - two playing at full-back (Florenzi and Torosidis), two midfielders (De Rossi and Pjanic, both with two goals each in the current European campaign) and four forwards (Gervinho, Falque, Salah and Dzeko). This is the fourth time in nine appearances that Roma have recorded double figures in the first group stage - their record was the 12 scored in the 2008-09 season.

25

Bosnian midfielder Pjanic, who has scored five in the league and two in the Champions League in 2015-16, now has 25 goals for Roma in all competitions, leaving him in 50th place on the all-time list of Giallorossi scorers.

35

Roma have scored 35 goals in 15 matches in all competitions so far, more than half of the 68 they hit in 50 games last year.

Mohamed Salah and Edin Dzeko joined a list of 133 players who have scored in contintental action for Roma – 33 of whom have scored in the Champions League.
