The 29-year-old, who was named Bosnian Footballer of the Year three years in row, is the fourth new arrival at Trigoria this summer after the capture of Iago Falque from Genoa, Mohamed Salah from Chelsea and the loan-signing of Wojciech Szczesny from Arsenal.
Džeko famously wore the No.10 shirt at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester but with that number already taken by a certain Francesco Totti, the Bosnian has been handed the iconic number No.9 jersey.
It’s a shirt that carries a weight of expectation with it – having been worn by some legendary Roma stars of the past – including Amedeo Amadei, Dino Da Costa, Pedro Manfredini, Roberto Pruzzo, Rudi Voeller, Abel Balbo and Vincenzo Montella.
