On average, Roma have scored 2.15 goals per game this season, their joint third-best of all time level with 1929-30. The Giallorossi have only done better on two occasions: 2.37 in 1930-31 and 2.56 in 1928-29.
Roma have gone behind in their last three home games against Torino, Bologna and Inter. That hasn't happened in a single season since the 2-1 loss to Fiorentina followed by two 2-2 draws against Napoli and then Catania between April and May 2012. However, another run of three home games in which the Giallorossi went behind started from that 2-2 draw with Catania and continued into the first two fixtures of the next season (another 2-2 with Catania and a 3-2 loss against Bologna).
Roma have failed to hit the back of the net in the opening quarter of an hour at home for eight matches since the 1-1 draw with AC Milan on 9 January. Prior to that, there were two early goals at the Olimpico when Udinese visited and one in the home derby. The Giallorossi haven't encountered the same issue on their travels, scoring in the first fifteen minutes against Sassuolo, Empoli, Udinese again and Lazio again in the away derby.
The win over Torino extended Roma's run without defeats at home to ten matches in the league. The Giallorossi last managed this feat at the beginning of last season, when they managed 13 games unbeaten at the Olimpico – seven back-to-back wins followed by six draws. The current crop are still a long way from beating the club record for unbeaten home games: 38 matches set between 1999-2000 and 2001-02 under Fabio Capello's stewardship. In second place, there's a 29-match unbeaten spell stretching from 1982-83 to 1984-85 under Nils Liedholm and Sven Goran Eriksson respectively. Next is 26 games without loss at home between 1970-71 and 1971-72: Helenio Herrera was in charge either side of a short-lived spell with Luciano Tessari at the helm. Nils Liedholm also masterminded 23 unbeaten displays at home between 1979-80 and 1981-82. Roma have put together 19-match unbeaten runs at the Olimpico three times in their history – between 2007-08 and 2008-09 with Luciano Spalletti in charge, 1993/94 to 1994/95 under Carlo Mazzone and stretching from 2012/13 to 2013/14 as Aurelio Andreazzoli and then Rudi Garcia steered the ship.
Roma have scored in every home game in Serie A since the loss to Atalanta, bagging 23 goals in total.
The three strikes yesterday increased Roma's total to 73 in the league this year, equalling the third-best season haul set back in 1929/30 and there are four more matches still to play. The Giallorossi should overtake second-place – 74 in 2006/07 – with the all-time best of 87 in 1930/31 still some way off.
Francesco Totti moves onto 303 goals for the club and scored for the first time in consecutive matches since October 2014, when he scored in Juventus 3-2 Roma and then in Roma 3-0 Chievo Verona. Il Capitano bagged his 52nd brace, increasing the total number of Giallorossi doubles in league and cup since 1927 to 491. Totti has now hit the back of the net in 243 of his 754 appearances for the club and has scored more than once in a game on 56 occasions – four hat-tricks alongside the 52 braces already mentioned.
It was 339 days since the last time the Giallorossi came from behind to win a game: 2-1 against Udinese at the Olimpico with Radja Nainggolan and Vasilis Torosidis on the scoresheet. The last occasion Roma won after being down at half-time dates back to Parma 1-3 Roma on 16 September 2013, when Alessandro Florenzi, Francesco Totti and Kevin Strootman from the penalty spot got the goals.
