Roma have conceded just two goals in the first 15 minutes of play after 36 leagues games this season. Besides ex-Giallorossi midfielder Panagiotis Tachtsidis at the Ferraris on Monday, the only player to have found a way past our backline in the opening quarter of an hour was Adam Masina, when we visited Bologna earlier in the campaign. In 2014-15 the Giallorossi let in five goals – four away (at Napoli, Atalanta, Palermo and Inter) and one at home (against Sassuolo) – before the 15-minute mark.
Luciano Spalletti's side have not held a half-time lead in five games since the Rome derby, drawing three times and trailing twice after the first 45 minutes. In the five matches prior to that 4-1 victory over Lazio, Roma had found themselves in front at the break on four occasions and level once.
Six Giallorossi players have made at least 40 appearances in all competitions so far this season. Kostas Manolas (43) and Alessandro Florenzi (40) managed it before the weekend, while Radja Nainggolan, Mohamed Salah, Lucas Digne and Wojciech Szczesny all reached that milestone at the Stadio Ferraris. In 2014-15 five players featured at least 40 times over the course of the year: Nainggolan and Miralem Pjanic (46), Florenzi (45), Adem Ljaic and Manolas (41).
Edin Dzeko's pass enabled Stephan El Shaarawy to complete our comeback against Genoa and rack up his seventh goal in 16 appearances for Roma (14 in Serie A). The Giallorossi have won all six matches – four away and two at home – when the Italy striker has found the net.
The Giallorossi's 3-2 triumph over Genoa made it three on the trot after two comeback wins in three matches, something they last did in January 2005 (2-1 away to Fiorentina and 3-2 at home to Messina). Roma's tenth success at Genoa – nine in Serie A and one in the Coppa Italia on their first-ever visit on 18 May 1930 – means they have now beaten Genoa in each of the last four meetings. Monday's goals by Mohamed Salah, Francesco Totti and Stephan El Shaarawy sealed our third turnaround on Genoa soil following two 4-2 wins in January 1948 and October 2012. Genoa remains the second toughest city for the Giallorossi to travel to though: After Turin (21 wins in 153 visits to Torino and Juventus, 13%) come Genoa (18 out of 107 meetings with Genoa and Sampdoria, 17%) and Milan (30 from 163 trips to Inter and AC Milan, 18%).
Mohamed Salah took his tally to 14 for the season with his goal against Genoa, 13 in Serie A and one in the Champions League. Mattia Destro was the last Roma player to score 13 league goals in the same season, in 2013-14.
Our 3-2 triumph at the Ferraris means Roma have set a new club record for away goals scored in the top flight. This season's total of 36 beats the 35 notched on the road in 2000-01 and 2005-06. 36 goals from 18 away days also means an average of two per game, the second highest since 1927 after the 2.06 achieved in the season of our third Scudetto. With 180 minutes of the term still to play, Roma have scored 77 total goals – ten less than the club record of 87 from 1930-31, when Rodolfo Volk bagged 30 all by himself. Mohamed Salah, with 13, is our top scorer this season. In the nine seasons in which Roma have scored at least 70 goals, this is the first time the top scorer has not been a centre forward. Volk (three times), Totti (three), Mattia Destro (one) and Pablo Daniel Osvaldo (one) ended the campaign with the most goals in our previous 70-goal seasons.
Francesco Totti has now scored 304 total goals for Roma, 248 in 599 league games. Four of those have come at Genoa, making him the Giallorossi player with the most goals in Genoa v Roma encounters. Before Monday he had been level with Bruno Pesaola (who hit a hat-trick in Genoa 2-4 Roma on 4 January 1948) and Rudi Voeller (who netted a brace in Genoa 0-2 Roma on 6 September 1989 and one in Genoa 1-1 Roma on 21 November 1990). Totti had previously scored in Genoa 3-2 Roma on 23 August 2009, Genoa 4-3 Roma on 20 February 2011 and Genoa 2-4 Roma on 21 October 2012. Il Capitano has also struck four in his last four matches, a streak he hadn't managed since January 2012 with he plundered doubles against Chievo and Cesena.
Daniele De Rossi is now tied with Giacomo Losi as the player with the second-most top-flight appearances in a Giallorossi shirt. Genoa v Roma was De Rossi's 386th league match, coming 13 years, three months and seven days after his Serie A debut in Como 2-0 Roma on 25 January 2003. Thirteen years, eight months and four days passed between Losi's first and final match for Roma, respectively a 3-0 win over Inter on 20 March 1955 and a 2-0 defeat away to Hellas Verona on 24 November 1968.
Kevin Strootman made his long-awaited return to the Giallorossi starting line-up against Genoa after a 463-day hiatus. The Dutch midfielder, who came on as a substitute in our 5-0 defeat of Palermo on 21 February 2016, hadn't started a game since Fiorentina 1-1 Roma in January 2015.
Three goals at the Ferraris takes Roma's all-time Serie A tally to 3999. The first was scored by Rodolfo Volk in Alessandria 3-1 Roma on 6 October 1929.
