Roma to broadcast Latina friendly live on Twitter

GIM

AS Roma will broadcast an entire match live on Twitter on Saturday, as the Giallorossi kick off the match action ahead of the new season.

Roma’s first pre-season friendly, away to Serie D side Latina, will be broadcast in its entirety on Twitter – in a first for the club on the social media platform.

The game at the Stadio Domenico Francioni gets underway at 18:30 local time (17:30 BST, 12:30 EST), with fans from all over the world able to tune in as Eusebio Di Francesco’s Champions League semi-finalists begin preparations for the new Serie A campaign.

The game will be broadcast from the Italian language account, @OfficialASRoma.

The move continues the club’s pledge to be the most forward-thinking, technologically advanced club in professional football. Roma were the first club to stream an entire match on Facebook, back in the summer of 2016, and have gone on to pioneer a number of new mediums and technologies across Instagram, Snapchat and more.

Fans will also be able to follow the match on Roma TV, Roma TV+ (outside Italy) and via Roma Radio.
