Angelo Da Costa – Bologna

Bologna were just a moment away from snatching three points at the Stadio Olimpico against Lazio, thanks to Da Costa’s wonder saves on Ciro Immobile (twice), Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Felipe Anderson. There’s nothing he could have done on the final penalty.

Davide Astori – Fiorentina

If the Viola did not lose against Atalanta it is also thanks to the Italian centre back, always in the right spot at the right time. Every time Atalanta put in a cross for Andrea Petagna, Astori was there to clear the ball.

Nicolas Burdisso – Genoa

Genoa were with 10 men for over half of the game, and Empoli should have done more to score the winner. But if Manuel Pucciarelli and Alberto Gilardino were lacking it is because the expert Argentine defender was clean and solid, conceding nothing to the opponents.

Andrea Conti – Atalanta

The Under-21 Italian national confirmed his rising moment with an excellent performance in Florence. Provided constant runs and defensive care for 90 minutes and also cleared the ball off the line from a Carlos Sanchez header to deny Fiorentina the 1-0.

Alessandro Florenzi – Roma (2 Team of the Week appearances)

What a fantastic player. Wherever Luciano Spalletti deploys him, the Roman answers with great performances. As a mixture between an attacking winger and a full-back, Florenzi annihilated Lorenzo Insigne in Naples, and also provided an assist for Edin Dzeko.

Juraj Kucka – AC Milan

One of the secrets of the Rossoneri’s victory against Chievo, with Vincenzo Montella’s men now second. Kucka was the motor of Milan and also scored a magnificent goal to make it 1-0.

Stefano Sensi – Sassuolo

He came on with Sassuolo losing 0-1 and the Neroverdi turned it around to win 2-1, with the young midfielder scoring his first Serie A goal and giving the spark to all the team top win the game.

Adem Ljajic – Torino

Torino continue to fly under Sinisa Mihajlovic and this time it was thanks to the Serbian, showing once again his skills. Two wonder goals against Palermo, turning around the result and leading the way to the Granata’s 4-1 victory.

Federico Melchiorri – Cagliari

Surprisingly started instead of Marco Borriello, and for large parts of the match against Inter, he couldn’t find the way to hurt the Nerazzurri. Then, in the final 20 minutes, he scored the equaliser and forced Samir Handanovic into the mistake for the winner. Decisive.

Edin Dzeko – Roma

The Bosnian is back. A seventh goal in eight games for the ex-Manchester City star, with two crucial strikes in Naples to give Roma a win that could be the turning point to their season.

Paulo Dybala – Juventus

It wasn’t the brightest performance for the Bianconeri against Udinese, but luckily they have the man with the number 21 on his shoulders. Dybala fired home a beautiful free kick for the equaliser and then was stone cold to slot home the penalty and win the game, hugging his friend Leonardo Bonucci whose son had been ill. Phenomenal.
