card

On Tuesday 13 September, the white 2016-17 Roma away shirt signed by Pope Francis was put up for auction to raise money for the Central Italy Earthquake Emergency fund

The club’s objective is to support activities involving areas struck by the disaster via the Football Cares platform.

Pope Francis was presented the special, customised shirt during the audience granted to delegations from Roma and San Lorenzo de Almagro in Vatican City on Friday 2 September 2016. The audience took place on the eve of the Festa della Famiglia, which the club organised as part of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy.

With the Festa della Famiglia also serving as a fundraising effort for the earthquake relief efforts, Pope Francis decided to sign the shirt and donate it to raise further funds for the cause.
