The national team captain, along with a number of other famous sportsmen and women from his country, sat down with girls and boys from a range of sports clubs to offer advice and inspiration for their own lives and prospective careers.
“I am glad that I am with you today, and that we can spend time together, and talk about sport, and the importance of sport for all of us,” Dzeko said.
“Gatherings like these are beneficial for all of us, and I wish there were more of them, since all of us can learn something from each other.”
Dzeko was joined by Amel Tuka, a bronze medallist at last year’s World Championships in the 800 metres.
Dzeko added: “We have always had talented athletes in all sports. Here is Tuka, who trained in difficult conditions, as I did after the war. I invite everyone who is able to to do everything they can to make sure our children have better conditions, so that they can be even better, and achieve even better results.”
The 31-year-old then sat for a question-and-answer session with the children in attendance, answering enquiries on a variety of issues.
