Kolarov helped his new side get off to a winning start in Serie A at the weekend, scoring the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Atalanta in Bergamo.
And the full-back believes that, after getting a valuable win under their belts, the squad will arrive at the Olimpico with greater confidence and conviction to take on Inter.
“Obviously every time you start the championship well is a good thing, and the victory we got gave us a boost,” Kolarov told Sky Sport Italia. “We know we did not play great, but we left with all three points and at the moment that is the most important thing for us. Now we are concentrating on Saturday’s game and we want to face Inter as ready as possible.
“We know they have a strong squad and it’s not just one or two players, we have to give all of the players they put out on the pitch maximum attention.”
The Serbian added that the group have already discussed the ways they can improve after Sunday’s opener.
“I think we must move the ball around better,” Kolarov added. “We know the strength of Atalanta at home and because of that we struggled a bit.
“In the week we talked about this amongst ourselves. The coach has prepared us very well for Saturday’s game and we hope to improve game-by-game.”
Kolarov is looking forward to continuing to learn under new coach Eusebio Di Francesco.
“He’s a coach from the new generation, he’s young and puts a big emphasis on team spirit and concentration, and wants high pressing,” he added. “I like this style of play; I still do not know [Di Francesco] very well but so far I’m enjoying working with him.
“I have huge confidence in this group, I know our players like Edin [Dzeko] and Daniele [De Rossi] and I am convinced we can do good things, in the Champions League as well.”
