Rudiger named in Germany's Confederations Cup squad

ELKF

Roma defender Antonio Rudiger has been named in Germany's squad for this summer's Confederations Cup in Russia.

The tournament, which Joachim Low's side qualify for as reigning World Cup winners, takes place from June 17 to July 2, as a tune-up and rehearsal for the host nation ahead of next summer's World Cup.

The Confederations Cup contains two groups, with eight countries invited to participate. The top two in each group progress to the semi-finals of the competition.

Germany are in Group B, with group stage contests against Australia, Chile and Cameroon scheduled.

Russia, New Zealand, Portugal and Mexico are the other nations competing.
