Spugna: We deserved to go through

See what the boss had to say after Roma Women ensured their European adventure would continue in dramatic fashion on Sunday night...

Roma Women's inaugural adventure in the Women's Champions League will continue for at least another round, after they edged past Paris FC on Sunday night.

The Giallorosse defeated their illustrious French opponents after a penalty shoutout in Glasgow, ensuring they are now just one step away from reaching the competition's group stage.

Here's what the boss had to say after the match...

Roma have shown that they belong in this competition tonight...

“We put in an amazing performance against a really good opponent. It was an amazing game, from both sides. We rode our luck at time but in the end we had the best chances. When it comes to penalties anything can happen, but we fully deserved to carry on in this competition."

Now there is one more step to go before reaching the group stage...

“Right now we want to enjoy this moment, this evening. Then we've got a few games in the league before we see what happens in the draw for the next phase. We will be playing at least one game in Rome, because it's a two-legged tie, so that will be a beautiful occasion."

There were even Romanisti here tonight!

“It just shows that Roma fans really are everywhere. It has been amazing to have them alongside us, we've really appreciated it."
