Verona 3-2 Roma: First setback of the campaign

Seven games into Jose Mourinho's reign, it was Davide Faraoni's impressive half-volley that ultimately condemned the Giallorossi to defeat at the Stadio Bentegodi.

The visitors had taken the lead in the first half through Lorenzo Pellegrini's latest individual piece of brilliance - the midfielder backheeling home from Rick Karsdorp's cross - before quickly going behind in a 10-minute span at the start of the second half.

An own goal from Ivan Ilic, under pressure from Tammy Abraham, then restored the balance at 2-2 - only for Faraoni to deliver a fine finish that crashed in off the underside of the bar.

Mourinho's side pushed and probed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but ultimately could not find a way through.

They have a chance to get back on track as soon as Thursday night: Udinese being the visitors to the Stadio Olimpico.
