Shirts to feature special patch against Sampdoria

On Sunday Roma players will wear a special shirt featuring the inscription: "La Roma non si discute, si ama".

The phrase - broadly translated as 'You don't doubt Roma, you love her' - was first said on 17 June 1951, by Italian actor Renato Rascel.

Rascel was reacting, on stage and unprompted, to the news that the Giallorossi had just been relegated to Serie B - for the first and only time in their history.

Rascel, also known for his 1954 song 'Arrivederci Roma', died on 2 January 1991. Thirty years on from his passing, the club has decided to celebrate him through his famous phrase, one that has been adopted by Roma fans worldwide.
