Kluivert determined to take chances this season

Justin Kluivert opened his goalscoring account for the season during Sunday’s 4-2 win over Sassuolo – and hopes that the performance will be the start of a productive season for him.

Kluivert added the fourth goal of the game inside the first half at the Stadio Olimpico, as the Giallorossi ran riot in the opening 45 minutes.

Speaking after the game, the Dutchman admitted that he was looking to make a bigger impression this season – having gone through a few growing pains in his first season in Italian football.

“Last year was my first year, and I think I learned a lot,” Kluivert said.

“This year I knew I had to do more, so I thought to myself that every game that I have, every chance that I have, I will give 100% for the team and for myself to get better. I learned a lot from last year’s experiences.”

He added: “My main goal this season is to be a good player for Roma, to score a lot of goals, to become a player that the team can depend on.

"I learned a lot from last season, and this year I want to learn even more again, to be even better the season after.”
