Arezzo 1-3 Roma: Pre-season ends with a win

Roma concluded an unbeaten pre-season with a 3-1 victory over Serie C side Arezzo on Saturday evening.

Goals from Diego Perotti (from the penalty spot), Edin Dzeko and Justin Kluivert proved decisive for Paulo Fonseca's side, who also had two goals ruled out during the contest.

Arezzo midfielder Niccolo Belloni scored the home side's goal, equalising from the spot shortly after Perotti had given Roma their first lead of the game.

After both Edin Dzeko and Nicolo Zaniolo had goals ruled out for offside, it took the Giallorossi until the second half to break the deadlock at the Stadio Citta di Arezzo, after Zaniolo was hauled down in side the box.

Perotti converted nervelessly, seemingly opening up the game - only for Arezzo to have the chance to equalise in identical circumstances moments later.

But Roma regrouped and, thanks to great work from Dzeko, soon were back ahead. When substitute Kluivert slotted home after Mirko Antonucci's initial effort was saved, the Giallorossi had confirmed their pre-season would end without defeat.

For Fonseca's side, it is now on to the official matches. The Giallorossi host Genoa at the Stadio Olimpico in their opening Serie A fixture of the season next Sunday.

ROMA XI to face Arezzo: Pau Lopez; Florenzi (Santon), Fazio, J. Jesus (Mancini), Kolarov (Spinazzola); Cristante, Diawara (Pellegrini); Cengiz (Defrel), Zaniolo (Antonucci), Perotti (Kluivert); Dzeko (Schick).
