Roma Women set pre-season plans for 2019-20

Roma Women will begin preparations for their second campaign in professional football on Monday morning - as pre-season gets underway for Betty Bavagnoli's side.

On Monday 29 July the squad - including the eight signings made over the summer - will convene for the first time ahead of the new campaign, undergoing medical tests before beginning work at the club's training base at the Giulio Onesti Training Centre in the north of Rome.

The squad will then embark on a short ritiro (training camp) in Umbria, from 4-11 August.

The new Serie A campaign gets underway on the weekend of 14 September, and runs until 16 May 2020.

Like last year, Roma Women - who finished fourth in the league, and reached the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia - will play home games at Stadio Tre Fontane this season.

Inter Milan and Empoli are the two new additions to Serie A this season, following their promotion from Serie B last term.

Pink Bari and Orobica Bergamo were relegated from the top-flight at the end of the 2018-19 campaign. It remains to be officially confirmed how the unfortunate liquidations of Chievo Verona Valpo and Atalanta Mozzanica will be addressed in terms of the composition of the league.

This season's Coppa Italia campaign is scheduled to get underway on the 29 September, with the Serie B sides beginning their campaign at that point.

Serie A sides will enter the competition in mid-December, with the final currently pencilled in for 27 May 2020.
