Gallery: Roma come from behind to beat Ternana

Roma capped off the third week of pre-season with a second training game victory of the day, as they beat Ternana 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Roma capped off the third week of pre-season with a second victory of the day, as they beat Ternana 3-1 in a training matchon Saturday afternoon.

Perhaps lacking a bit of freshness after the exploits involved in the morning 7-0 win over Rieti, Paulo Fonseca’s side went behind early on against their Serie C opponents – only for Cengiz Under to rescue the scoreline with a quickfire brace early in the second half.

Gregoire Defrel then scored in the final moments of stoppage time to enhance the final scoreline.

Goalkeepers apart, Fonseca essentially opted to swap his players around from the morning – with those who only played the final 20 minutes against Rieti starting this game, and vice-versa.

“We’ve had a few good tests now, both teams today were good sides,” Bryan Cristante said afterwards.

“We need to keep working hard on everything. With a new coach, with new players, we need to keep putting in work in training. Slowly we will get to where we want to be.”

STARTING XI: Pau Lopez; Florenzi, J. Jesus, Fazio, Kolarov; Diawara, Cristante; Cengiz, Pastore, Perotti; Schick.

SUBS USED: Mirante; Karsdorp, Fazio, Mancini, Spinazzola; Nzonzi, Santon; Zaniolo, Antonucci, Kluivert; Defrel.
