AS Roma Women coach Betty Bavagnoli has won the 2018-19 'Panchina d'Oro' - awarded to the best coach in Serie A this season.
The award ('The Golden Bench') is voted for by all 12 coaches in the women's Serie A top flight, with Bavagnoli emerging as the victor.
In Roma's first-ever season in women's football, Bavagnoli guided a new squad to a top-four finish in the league and a run to the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia
She was presented with the award at a ceremony on Saturday.
Afterwards, Bavagnoli was congratulated on her achievement by club president Jim Pallotta.
“I want to congratulate Roma Women's coach Betty Bavagnoli on winning the coach of the year award," Pallotta said.
"Betty has done a remarkable job in Roma’s first season of women’s football and we’re very proud of her and her players and staff.”
