Florenzi: Things went against us

Alessandro Florenzi admitted to some frustrations in the wake of Roma's 1-1 draw with Fiorentina on Saturday night.

Florenzi, captain for the day in the absence of Daniele De Rossi, grabbed the equaliser for the visitors five minutes from full-time - after Fiorentina had taken the lead in the first-half through a controversial penalty.

“We have dropped two points, and not because of us,” Florenzi said afterwards.

“It was a game where not much went for us. In the last few games we have had some highs and lows, today I thought we tried to play our way for 90 minutes.

“Then there are moments like the penalty – which maybe should or should not be given, but right or wrong you still have to accept it. Today Roma played well and that’s an important thing to underline."

The match statistics certainly seemed to favour the Giallorossi.

“But the answer that we wanted was three points,” Florenzi added.

“We came here for that and I think we could have done. I am sorry for the fans who came in such numbers, and showed their passion as they always do.

"But playing like that, with the right attitude and being a bit more clinical we will turn games like this into wins again.”
