Bavagnoli wants fit-again squad to hit ground running as Serie A resumes

Roma Women's coach Betty Bavagnoli has urged her players to pick up where they left off, when Serie A resumes action this weekend.

The Giallorosse host Chievo Verona at Stadio Tre Fontane on Saturday afternoon, as they look to build on a positive run prior to the most recent international break that saw the side take seven points from three games.

After a nervy start to the campaign, the team are now looking to push on and move up the table.

"We are looking for another good result, but above all we are always looking to improve our standard of play and our performances," Bavagnoli told Roma TV.

"It's been a good period, with three good results. We need to keep building on that and continue to find consistency

"We know we are on a journey, that this is a big project we are building. We have worked hard during the international break."

The coach has almost no injury issues to worry about ahead of the game, with striker Martina Piemonte available for selection again after suffering a head injury in the game against Florentia.

"We have got almost everyone back now, and that's great for me," Bavagnoli said.

"It has been a while, we've had a few players with a few different issues, but now almost everyone is back and fighting for a place.

"Having a few selection issues is good for the group and augurs well for the future."

Saturday's game against Chievo Verona gets underway at 14:30 local time.
