AS Roma is delighted to announce that the team will return to the United States this summer for a match against Premier League side Liverpool in St. Louis.
The game, which will be hosted at Busch Stadium, home of 11-time World Series champions the St. Louis Cardinals, will kick off at 19:35 CT on 1 August.
“We’re very excited to be bringing Roma to North America this summer. It’s a great opportunity for our supporters on this side of the world to see their favourite players up close and personal and we intend to put on a great show for them."We’ve enjoyed some great matches against Liverpool in Boston in recent years and it will be great to bring this showpiece game to St. Louis.”
Jim Pallotta, AS Roma President
Roma last visited the United States during the summer of 2014, when the Giallorossi played pre-season games against Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Liverpool.
Indeed, this summer’s meeting between Roma and Liverpool will be the third time the two teams have faced each other on American soil – with the previous encounters, both staged at Boston’s Fenway Park, resulting in Roma wins.
Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday 8 June at 10:00 CT. Fans can buy tickets at Cardinals.com/soccer.
“Year in and year out, both AS Roma and Liverpool field ultra-competitive rosters in their respective leagues. Pairing them with a city so rich in professional sports history is a perfect fit, as the city has hosted numerous soccer matches over the years."St. Louis has a passionate base of soccer fans that always support these great matches and we are thrilled at the opportunity to continue spreading the game of soccer to this wonderful city.”
Charlie Stillitano, Chairman of Relevent Sports
