Cristante: "We have to restart from here"

Bryan Cristante spoke to the media after Roma's goalless draw with Juventus on Sunday night.

Here's what the midfielder had to say...

Did you expect today's formation choices?

“When important players arrive, the changes come more. I think it's just a strength. After the break we will play every three days, so there will be a lot of matches. I think it's an advantage to have so many strong players in the same position.

Only two points in three games and one goal scored. But did you notice a difference in spirit today?

“Definitely not the way we wanted to start. We started poorly, and the match against Empoli went badly. It was important to come here today and rediscover our compactness. Players arrived at the last minute, others left. It was not easy. It needed to be our starting point. We leave Turin with a point and only one goal conceded. We have to restart from here.”

Do you think you are an alternative to Paredes?

“Yes. As I said before, I think it is important to have more players in the same role. In comparison to previous seasons, you can't expect to play 50 or more games all the time. Then the level in some matches will drop. The stronger players there are, the better. There are a lot of games in a year, and I believe it is essential to achieve good results in the league and cup.”

On the situation with the coach during the week?

“It's the usual stories, which Rome tends to exaggerate a bit. It was a situation on the pitch for 10 seconds, without even telling each other off. Something caused by nervousness after two games without a win, but nothing of what was reported and came out.”
