El Shaarawy: "It was important to finish at home with a win"

You did not waste the opportunity to finish sixth.

"That's what Daniele [De Rossi] asked us to do. If there was a small chance, we needed to take it. Today it was important to win for these fans, who have never left us this season."

You called him Daniele. Is this a reflection of the type of group you are? What does De Rossi provide to the team?

"A lot. Even though he's only been coaching for a short time, he has great experience as a player. He's a leader and we're happy to have him with us. We are pleased with this victory, which has come at the end of a somewhat complicated season."

Do you have any regrets?

“Perhaps we could have scored more points in league games. In Europe, we came close to pulling off a feat in Leverkusen, but we fell short. We couldn't lose or draw today, so we're glad it finished like this.”
