Abraham: We had to get a result for ourselves and for the fans

How important is it to score again at home for you personally, and for the team?

"It was very important for me. It has been a long time coming. Last season I scored a lot of goals here, so I couldn’t wait to get my first one again. Today, I could have had two or three headers in front of the fans. But I will take the goal, I will take the three points, and now hopefully I can continue scoring at home which I love to do."

Is this the reaction you were looking for after the defeat to Cremonese?

"Of course, we were all disappointed with the result and that game affected us. So we had to play well today, we had to get a result for ourselves, for the fans and for all of Rome. And we did that. In the first 25-30 minutes, we looked like a team who could win the league. We just need to continue like this and keep winning."

How good is it to play with Paulo Dybala?

"Of course, Paulo is a very special and talented player. We all know what he can do. We work well together, today he assisted me, and it’s nice to keep sharing the assists and goals. He is obviously a winner like myself and my teammates. We want to win and he’s brought that experience that we needed."

What do you hope to achieve for the rest of the season?

"Last season I said I wanted to come here and win a trophy, and we did that. This is a new season, we’re still in the Europa League which we are going to fight for. I’ve always said I’ve wanted to win trophies for all of Rome and the fans, they deserve it. So that is my dream, I just need to keep scoring and hopefully we can lift another trophy."
