Club opens call center to help those with disabilities receive assistance

AS Roma will put its customer call centre at the disposal of people with disabilities needing assistance during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Many of those with disabilities in the Italian capital are not able to access the same services they usually rely on during the current period of uncertainty, and, because of this, the club has decided to offer its call centre for their use - to help connect individuals with support centres in their area.

Individuals or their relatives can call +39 (0) 689386000 to receive initial assistance and support in being directed to the health centre nearest to the homes and most suitable to their requirements, based on the list of facilities and resources provided to us by local health authorities and the Biomedical Campus.

The Roma call center will then operate as an intermediary between the various parties, helping to organise the support teams that are on hand to assist adults and children with mental or physical disabilities, neurological matters or any other congenital or acquired issue that requires assistance and attention.

The club’s hotline will be active from May 7 – and will operate from Monday to Friday between 09:30 and 18:30 CEST.

“To be able to put our resources to good use once again, this time to support those in difficulty, makes us incredibly proud,” said club Chief Operating Officer Francesco Calvo.

“We are delighted to be able to make the club’s call center available to those with disabilities. I would like to thank all those who have helped make this initiative possible.”

This project is the latest in the club’s ASSIEME (‘Together’) campaign, launched in April to help those in most need as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

During the current period, Roma Cares has distributed pulmonary ventilators and intensive care beds to hospitals in the city, while also donating thousands of gloves, masks and bottles of sanitising gel to health centres, key workers, shelters and individual citizens.
