Roma declare support for Safer Internet Day 2020

On Tuesday AS Roma threw its support behind Safer Internet Day 2020, at a special conference held in the Italian capital.

The club was invited by Italian charity Telefono Azzurro to present a case study about the hugely successful Missing Children campaign, which first began last summer.

The forum, which was held at the Prime Minister’s offices, featured various experts discussing the safety of minors online - with a special focus on social media, child exploitation, anorexia and cyber bullying.

“Thanks to the incredible success of our partnership with AS Roma, which began in June 2019, I wanted to invite the club to share their findings from the missing children campaign at today’s Safer Internet Day conference in Rome,” said Professor Ernesto Caffo, president of Telefono Azzurro.

“Roma have impressed me greatly with their dedication to the issue of missing children in Italy and overseas and the club have now committed to expand our work together, through Roma Cares, on other issues related to the protection and wellbeing of children.

"In the coming months, we hope to reveal more details of how Telefono Azzurro and AS Roma will work together on new projects.”
