Binge Watch: Allyson Swaby recommends five TV series to see

We asked Allyson Swaby to review and recommend five TV series she has watched recently, to give fans a few ideas for what to watch during the current quarantine...

Having recently extended her contract until 2022, Jamaica international Swaby is set to be a key part of Roma Women's defence for seasons to come.

Currently in isolation - along with a lot of people around the world - we asked the centre-back to recommend a few things to watch to pass the time...

    Here are here selections...

    Tiger King

“I watched this in a couple of days – I just couldn’t look away. It blew my mind. Something new seems to emerge every 10 minutes that takes the story in directions you don’t expect. It’s so funny. My friend texted me: ‘I don’t get it, why is this female character so controversial – she seems so nice!’ I asked her which episode she was on, and she said episode two. I told her that’s why – she needs to keep on watching! It keeps you completely confused and on your toes throughout. I promise you, you’ve never seen anything like it.”

“I like this show because, along with everything else, you can watch it in any order you like. You don’t need to have seen every episode before to follow along. When I moved to Italy it was also on the one TV channel where I could turn the language back to English, so I was able to continue watching it over here without any problems.”

    Sunderland 'Til I Die

“An obvious choice, perhaps, but it’s always good to have something soccer-related in there. I found it really interesting to follow a football team like that for a season, especially because I wasn’t familiar with how Sunderland had actually done that season – so the results were all new to me and that helped with the drama and the suspense. The new series, following last season, is out this week too - so there will be plenty to get through if you haven’t seen any of it so far.”

“This is a British show that I randomly started watching recently. It’s a show about a man being told a secret that seems to unravel his life completely. Then women start going missing and it follows the plot from there. It’s also totally random and unexpected in places, but it’s pretty good.”

“This is also pretty uncomfortably viewing, but at the same time it’s hard to look away! The premise is basically that the contestants start dating without seeing each other – they talk from behind screens so they never actually see what the other one looks like. Then at a certain point the couples have to decide if they are going to get married or not, and then in the final episodes they get to actually meet each other and decide if they go through with the wedding. Some of them do go through with it too! It sounds crazy and it is - I think everyone will find it incredibly weird, but it’s enjoyable!”
